Dispute Resolution
Litigation
DAHL’s expert attorneys offer effective and specialised legal counsel in all areas of conflict resolution and assist both Danish and foreign businesses in commercial litigation and arbitration cases.
We specialise in helping businesses and organisations to resolve any disputes that may arise. Commercial disputes can be a major issue for company managers who are forced, often with limited knowledge, to make a decision regarding the potential consequences of a dispute. We focus on business considerations and ensure our counselling is always based on the company’s situation. We provide you with skilled advice on all potential solutions and our experienced trial lawyers will lead your case from start to finish.
Among other things, we have extensive experience with disputes in the following areas:
- Business law and commercial disputes
- IT law issues
- Intellectual property cases such as patent, trademark, copyright and product infringement cases
- Employment law disputes and conflict resolution
- Insurance law disputes – predominantly on behalf of insurance companies
- Litigation concerning real estate as well as disputes in building and construction projects
- Professional liability such as managerial, attorney, consultant and auditor liability
- Tax cases and tax lawsuits on behalf of businesses
In addition, we also specialise in conducting class action proceedings in which many parties are involved. We take some disputes as litigation cases before the ordinary courts while others end as arbitration cases. Click here to read more about arbitration.
A dedicated team with many years of experience
Court cases must be conducted by specialised trial attorneys. Our expertise in precisely this area, conducting litigation, always assures our clients an optimal process, both professionally and financially. To assure high levels of professionalism and quality for our clients, we have brought our experts together in a single, cross-departmental team that handles more or less all commercial trial cases for our clients. On the team we have some of Denmark’s most experienced advocates in conducting cases at all instances of the civil courts, arbitration institutes and the European Court of Justice.
DAHL's specialists in dispute resoultion and ligitations are ranked by the international legal directory Legal 500 (2021). In their guide, a client states: "The dispute resolution team at Dahl Law Firm is hardworking and capable of handling complicated and big cases at the highest level.""The dispute resolution team at Dahl Law Firm is hardworking and capable of handling complicated and big cases at the highest level."
Our counsel always includes an evaluation of trial risk. We review all the case’s key legal issues, evidence and the possible financial and commercial consequences of the case for the business. If alternative solutions to a dispute cannot be found, the case must be decided through litigation or through arbitration. We possess invaluable insight into the practices of the courts and we know the importance of conducting the case with meticulous care for case details and with well-prepared argumentation. Added to which, many of our trial lawyers act as tribunal arbitrators and are therefore familiar with the significant elements that go toward assessing and deciding a case.
It is often necessary to draw on expert legal knowledge and therefore our specialised trial attorneys work closely with DAHL’s other lawyers, whether this concerns contractual disagreements, construction law cases, employment law disputes, IT law issues or other cases of a commercial nature.
Cross-border court cases
When cross-border disputes arise, we are ready to help. Thanks to our international network we can, at short notice, refer clients to suitable legal representation abroad and plan the most optimal strategy and ensure efficient management and communication. We have extensive experience handling cases abroad where we function as a link between the company and the lawyer. Our team has in-depth knowledge of trial procedures and courts systems in Germany, France, the UK, India and the USA, among others.
